Tomás Sobrino holds an experience of more than 10 years as molecular biologist (BSc, 2003, University of Santiago de Compostela (USC)), 10 years as researcher in Neurosciences (PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, obtaining Extraordinary PhD Award, 2007, USC, Spain), and 8 years of teaching as assistant lecturer at the Medicine Department of University of Santiago de Compostela.
Dr. Sobrino is the Director of LINC: Clinical Neurosciences Research Laboratory (http://www.linc-stg.eu/) and leads the research lines of Neurorepair and Cell Therapy, and also participating in lines as Hyperthermia and neuronal damage, excitotoxicitiy and neuronal damage, mechanisms of damage in stroke, diagnostic markers of stroke etiology, molecular markers of progression stroke, Inflammation and metalloproteinases in brain ischemia, molecular uncoupling in acute brain ischemia, and molecular imaging and theragnostics in stroke and Alzheimer's disease.
