Dr. Jan-Michael Schmalhorst

Dr. Jan Schmalhorst works on physics of ultrathin film systems and spectroscopy of electronic properties, in particular using electrons and X-rays (mostly at synchrotrons). He is senior scientist on the physics department of Bielefeld university and responsible for project management.
In the MADIA project, he is responsible for supervising the thin film deposition and the characterization of the sensor film stacks as well as for organizing the access of the students to micro- and nanopatterning facilities.
